This year we are sad to announce that the Barrows will not be returning to the Sockeyes. They have made the decision that because of the long years and hard work put into the team, it was time to take a break and have some down time. Although this is sad news to hear about, they will always be a Sockeye, and will be welcome with open arms
Anson Barrows have been the trainer of the Sockeyes for many years, and is highly respected by the PIJHL hockey league and the Richmond Sockeyes. Through injuries from guys, to coaches, to reffs, to fans he has dedicated his time to make sure all are doing well. He was an amazing trainer and I can say that he will be missed entirely.
Kathy Barrows has been in charge of running the gate all these years and she hasn't been unrecgonized through the years. She was amazing at doing her job. The gate was always run smoothly and all behind the scene stuff that needed to be done, she would never say no to it. She is going to be highly missed by everyone. She has been the core for everything running smoothly at the games, and it was greatly appreciated!!
Shannon Barrows was in charge of the gate during games. She was there to help out and make sure that everything ran smoothly during game time. She was friendly and funny to work with! All of the volunteers and fans were always greeted by Shannon, and felt happy to be there. Great work with everything and you will surely be missed.
We would like to thank Anson, Kathy and Shannon Barrows for all their years of hard work and commitment to their jobs. We are all sad to see you go! But we are sure that we'll be seeing you around the rink at games! We wish you the best of luck in the years to come. Thank you. Once a Sockeye, always a Sockeye. You will be missed!
